PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Boston College women's soccer team fell on the road at Pitt, 3-0, in a rain-soaked ACC contest on Thursday night at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
The game, which was originally scheduled for a 6 p.m. start but was delayed until 6:30 p.m., featured a 50-minute delay during the second half due to lightning.
After a scoreless first half, the Panthers struck first, taking a 1-0 lead on a 60th minute penalty kick conversion from Amanda West. Less than a minute after the penalty kick, the game entered the 50-minute weather delay. Out of the break, the Eagles pressed hard for the equalizer - and Ella Richards got two dangerous looks - but it would be Pitt that found the net again as the hosts added two goals after the delay.
