LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Boston College baseball team was shut out by No. 8 Louisville at Jim Patterson Stadium on Friday night in its ACC opener. The Eagles dropped to 7-5 overall, while the Cardinals improved to 10-3.
Leadoff-walks issued to Louisville in the first and sixth innings were the difference early. The Cardinals got to BC senior lefty Dan Metzdorf (Burlington, Mass.) with a seeing-eye single through the left side with two away off the bat of right fielder Danny Oriente to plate leadoff batter and second baseman Lucas Dunn.
Metzdorf, who last pitched at Jackson State (2/15) on opening day, went 4.
