BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Boston College baseball team fell to Maine, 17-7, in its home finale at the Harrington Athletics Village on Tuesday evening. The Black Bears got the first two batters to reach in each of the first six innings, scoring in each, to improve to 27-17.
The Eagles (19-31) used 11 pitchers in the contest with graduate right-hander Brendan Coffey (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) tossing the first scoreless inning of the game with a three-up, three-down seventh. Junior RHP Max Gieg (Lynn, Mass.) started and was hit for four runs, including a three-run home run by left fielder Scout Knotts.
