Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College baseball team started August with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which was made famous last year by former captain and director of baseball operations Pete Frates, who was diagnosed with the disease in March 2012 at the age of 27.
Along with Frates and his support system of family and friends, called "Team Frate Train," the Eagles pledged to take the challenge every August until a cure for ALS is found. Member of the team explained why they dumped water on their heads in honor of Frates and in memory of longtime BC Sports Information Director Dick Kelley.
