CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Twelve Boston College athletic teams were recognized Wednesday with the NCAA APR (Academic Progress Rate) Public Recognition Award. Each year, the awards are bestowed upon teams finishing in the top 10 percent of their respective sport based on the most recent multi-year APR.
BC's 12 teams honored rank tied for third nationally among FBS schools, and second among Atlantic Coast Conference schools. The top five schools nationally among FBS schools were Notre Dame (14), Northwestern (13), Boston College (12), Stanford (12) and Duke (10).
"Congratulations to the programs earning Public Recognition Awards for their commitment to academic success," NCAA President Mark Emmert said.
