BC legend Brian Gionta was unquestionably the best men's hockey player to spend four years on the Heights. His freshman year he scored 30 goals and only got better from there, amassing 123 career goals to set the BC record while having one of the best collegiate careers in NCAA history.
But after 15 years, that record has fallen. BC women's hockey's Alex Carpenter scored two goals in Tuesday's win over Harvard in the Beanpot semifinals, notching her 123rd and 124th career tallies and overtaking Gionta at the top of the BC scoring list.
Carpenter has already scored 34 goals in 28 games this season and has anywhere from 9 to 14 games to go.
