A Student’s Opinion on Steve Addazio and the State of Boston College Football

Three weeks ago, #17 Boston College was riding a three game win streak, two of which came against the Miami Hurricanes and the Virginia Tech Hokies. College Gameday was coming to the Heights. So was #2 Clemson. It was, by far, the biggest game of Steve Addazio’s tenure. Since going winless in ACC play in 2015, Steve Addazio’s seat had never been cooler and the “Fire Addazio” chants had never been quieter.

However, as Michael Scott would say, “my how the turntables.” After losing QB1 Anthony Brown early in the first quarter of their loss to the Tigers, the Eagles lost a heartbreaker, 21-20 to the Florida State Seminoles, and were blown out on Senior Day, 42-21, to the Syracuse Orange to push the losing streak to three, and those Fire Addazio chants are getting louder by the minute.
