With the 31st overall pick, Shaw becomes the highest Eagle taken in the draft since Tony Sanchez in 2009.
With the 31st overall pick in the 2015 MLB Entry Draft, the San Francisco Giants drafted Boston College first baseman/outfielder Chris Shaw. The selection makes Shaw the highest pick since Tony Sanchez was selected fourth by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2009. He is also the first compensatory round player chosen since Mike Belfiore went 45th overall in that same draft.
Shaw, a native of Lexington, Massachusetts, now has until mid-July to sign a contract with the Giants or risk returning to Boston College for his senior season.
