At 7-5, Boston College can end up in several interesting bowl games to end their year on a high note...let's break down where they could land:
New Era Pinstripe Bowl (ACC/Notre Dame vs. Big Ten)
Sat., Dec. 27, 4:30 p.m. ET
Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY
The Pinstripe Bowl is where several other bowl projections have BC ending up, and it's a very solid landing spot from a commercial and competitive standpoint. This bowl will likely lead the lower-tier bowl games in ratings and attendance, and you can expect to see the Eagles face off against a beatable Big 10 squad (Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland and Iowa are all possible opponents here).
Military Bowl (ACC vs. American)
Sat., Dec. 27, 1:00 p.m. ET
Navy-Marine Corps. Stadium, Annapolis, MD
The Military Bowl would be a decent consolation prize if the Pinstripe Bowl falls through, although facing an opponent from the American conference isn't quite as good as lining up against a Big 10 squad (the commercial benefits and recruiting advantages of playing a Power-5 team are minor, but still worth acknowledging). If the Eagles end up playing in Annapolis, look for them to take on Cincinnati, East Carolina, Memphis or UCF.
Quick Lane Bowl (Big Ten vs. ACC)
Ford Field, Detroit, MI
Fri., Dec. 26, 4:30 p.m. ET
While they'd be facing a Big 10 opponent, this is probably the least appealing of BC's options. Illinois, Penn State, Maryland and Rutgers are once again the possible opponents, but a trip to Detroit will draw far less fans than a trip to New York City. The time slot - 4:30 PM on the Friday after Christmas - and the fact that this bowl is brand new & virtually unknown are also concerning.
