Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck showed up at Bob Cousy’s home on Tuesday morning with a special surprise: the 2008 and 2024 NBA championship trophies.
“You’ve been instrumental in all the championships,” Grousbeck told Cousy, according to the Worcester Telegram.
Cousy, who spent 13 seasons playing for the Celtics, helped the team win their first six of now 18 championships, dating back to 1957, when he won the title of MVP. Grousbeck and Jeff Twiss, the Celtics’ vice president of media and alumni relations, presented the trophies as a way to honor Cousy’s contributions to the team’s success.
