DALLAS — Mavericks guard Luka Doncic’s attempt to draw a charge on Jaylen Brown late in the fourth quarter of Game 3 of the NBA Finals Wednesday may have been the decision that sealed the Celtics’ stranglehold on this series.
After cutting a 21-point deficit all the way down to 3, the Mavericks had to play the final 4:12 of the game without their best offensive player because he fouled out on the play.
The Celtics found a way to hang on for a 106-99 win, and now lead the NBA Finals, 3-0.
