On Friday night, the Boston Celtics face the Philadelphia 76ers in a scintillating matchup that will decide which club will own the Eastern Conference for the foreseeable LeBron James-less future.
Not quite.
What the first summer league game does promise, though, is an early look at Celtics first-round pick Robert Williams, overseas star Brad Wanamaker, and the young players that could play key roles in the rotation next season.
Boston will be coached by Celtics assistant Jay Larranaga, who has managed their summer league teams in the past and was recently named one of Gregg Popovich’s assistants for an upcoming Team USA camp.
