There will be a scar.
That much we know this morning, with the wound of the Celtics’ loss to the Golden State Warriors in six games still fresh.
Only in the coming Celtics seasons will we learn for sure whether it’s the kind of scar that doubles as a badge of pride, a reminder of a hard but necessary lesson on the journey to ultimate success.
Or perhaps it will be the other kind of a scar, a jagged, and permanent what-if, a reminder of a moment gone wrong, never to be righted or avenged.
