Tuesday’s Celtics-Bulls game postponed as Boston grapples with positive COVID-19 tests, contact tracing

The Celtics’ game against the Bulls on Tuesday has been postponed because the league’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols would keep the Celtics from having the league minimum of eight players.

It will be Boston’s second consecutive postponement.

On Sunday, the scheduled matchup against the Heat was pushed back because the Heat did not have eight eligible players due to COVID-19 contact tracing protocols.

The Celtics had been scheduled to fly to Chicago at about 3 p.m. on Monday, but Boston remains severely undermanned.

Robert Williams and Jayson Tatum both tested positive for COVID-19 over the past week, and Jaylen Brown, Semi Ojeleye, Grant Williams, Tristan Thompson and Javonte Green are all being held out due to contact tracing.
