SPRINGFIELD — On a night in which his coaching pedigree was celebrated, Tom Heinsohn stood before an audience at the 2015 Basketball Hall of Fame’s Enshrinement Ceremony and said he’s still waiting for somebody to copy him.
Heinsohn, who won two NBA championships as a coach of the Celtics, was enshrined into the Basketball Hall of Fame yesterday along with former Celtic Jo Jo White, who played under Heinsohn. Heinsohn becomes one of only four people to be inducted into the Hall as both a player and a coach, joining Bill Sharman, John Wooden and Lenny Wilkens. He was inducted as a player in 1986.
