Today, February 13th is the 32nd anniversary of the birth of former Boston Celtics small forward J.R. Giddens.
Giddens, who was drafted 30th by the Celtics in the 2008 NBA Draft, did not get off to an auspicious start almost from the rip, missing training camp after not being able to work out a contract with the team beforehand. He would spend much of his years in Boston shuttling back and forth between the Celts and their NBA D-League affiliate at the time, the Utah Flash, playing a total of 27 games with the club over two seasons.
