Today in Celtics history: Bird wins 3rd 3-Point Shootout, Humphries born

Today, February 6th marks the 29th anniversary of Larry Bird winning his third Three Point Shootout.

Bird, who also won the inaugural contest in 1986 and the sophomore installation in 1987, defeated Dale Ellis by two points, raising his index finger into a #1 sign as his last shot swished into the net, ending the AT&T Shootout at Chicago Stadium, as it was called at that time.

Today is also the 32nd birthday of former Boston Celtics big man Kris Humphries.
