If you watched the "Winning Time" series on HBO this spring, the name Bill Sharman will ring a bell. He was a basketball operations decision maker with the Lakers at that time. He also was the Los Angeles Lakers coach the one and only time they had won a title previously (not counting the five championships that belong to Minneapolis).
But what Sharman is really known for is being a Hall of Fame player for the Boston Celtics during their dynasty. Yesterday would have been Sharman's 96th birthday, but he passed away back in 2013. Sharman was named to the NBA Top 50 list, back in the 90's and to the Top 75 list this season.
