Dressed to the nines, Celtics players, coaches, and management all attended the organization’s annual Shamrock Gala at the Westin Boston Waterfront Thursday evening.
The event, emceed by Celtics radio voice Mike Gorman, auctioned off several items and experiences — including an opportunity to play Fortnite at TD Garden with forward Gordon Hayward that went for $25,000 — and raised more than $1 million for local children’s charities.
“It’s an exciting, fun-filled night that tips off the start of what should be a thrilling season,” Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca said.
Center Aron Baynes received the New England Baptist Hospital Community Champions award, which is given to the player who “best displays outstanding, continuous, and dedicated service to the community.
