‘That’s garbage’: Wizards’ Brooks isn’t buying Celtics’ playoff weakness

Despite entering the playoffs without Gordon Hayward, Kyrie Irving and several other regular players, the Celtics remain a force to be reckoned with. That was the assertion of Washington Wizards coach Scott Brooks when asked about potentially wanting to play Boston in the postseason.

“Everybody says you should want to play them, but that’s garbage,” Brooks told the Boston Herald’s Steve Bulpett. “You’re going to have to play well to win against any team in this league in the playoffs, and nobody’s an easy out.”

Addressing the Celtics specifically, Brooks acknowledged the injuries while maintaining that Brad Stevens’s team is a threat.
