In what is looking increasingly like a January return for Marcus Smart, the Celtics have advised caution for those hoping for a speedy comeback from injury by the point guard.
Celtics coach Brad Stevens said before tonight's game against Sacramento in Mexico City that, “I don’t see him playing anytime in the near future. Hopefully it will be a couple of weeks.”
Considering that today is the three-week anniversary of Smart’s knee injury, suffered during a win over Brooklyn, his recovery is taking much longer than the team anticipated. The injury had been described as a subluxation of Smart’s left knee, with the result weakening of the tissue and a bone bruise.
