Smart unsure if sprained toe will have him ready for tomorrow

The surest sign that Marcus Smart is still struggling from his sprained left toe came after today's practice, when the point guard limped out to meet the media wearing sandals.

Whether he recovers on time to play tomorrow night against the Wizards is anyone's guess.

"I feel a little bit better, better than I was Tuesday," said Smart, who missed Tuesday night's loss in Indiana. "It was precautionary and to keep my toes stable. If I’m ready to go Friday I’ll go, but it’s early in the season."

In other words, there's no rush.

"They’re calling it a sprain, but not too sure how it happened," said Smart, who had an X-Ray, which turned out to be negative, taken of the toe yesterday.
