LAS VEGAS – Marcus Smart came out guns a blazin’ Saturday night in Las Vegas, scoring a game-high 19 points while leading the Boston Celtics to an 85-76 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.
Smart, who entered the contest averaging 24 points and 7.5 assists per game during summer league action, scored 12 during the first quarter thanks to an impressive shooting performance from long distance. The point guard fired up six 3s during the opening stanza and connected on four of them.
“I was feeling really good,” Smart said of his hot first quarter.
