WALTHAM, Mass. – Eleven Celtics hopefuls got their first taste of the program Wednesday morning, as Boston tipped off summer league workouts at its practice facility in Waltham.
The plan was to practice for roughly an hour – from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.; however, the C’s deviated from their initial intention and went much longer than expected.
The sneakers kept squeaking on the hardwood gym floor until 12:21 p.m., when the 13 exhausted summer-leaguers – including one-year pros Marcus Smart and James Young – finally converged to the center of the floor for a cool-down stretch.
