Robert Williams received cortisone shot for turf toe

The Celtics have already ruled out Robert Williams (along with Marcus Smart, Kemba Walker, and Jaylen Brown) ahead of their game in Cleveland tonight, but now we have a sense of the extent of the injury.

Williams is dealing with turf toe in his left foot, a particularly unpredictable injury without a concrete timeline for recovery. Per head coach Brad Stevens, Williams received a cortisone shot on Monday to reduce the inflammation, but there has been no improvement to date.

“I don’t really have an update on when he’ll be back,” Stevens said.
