The Boston Celtics used their open two-way contract slot on former first round pick RJ Hunter, signing him to rejoin his old team and possibly contribute down the line.
Hunter was the 28th pick of the 2015 NBA Draft by the Celtics, and he wore No. 28 during his first season with the team. He was cut in favor of James Young before the start of his sophomore campaign.
Now back in Boston, Hunter will wear No. 4, formerly worn by Isaiah Thomas. Thomas was famously traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a package for Kyrie Irving before last season.
