Former Celtics shooting guard Ricky Davis hasn’t shied too far away from basketball since his retirement in 2010.
“I’m not as athletic as I used to be, so I’m not going to dunk as much,” the 38-year-old told Boston.com. “But I’m shooting the jumper a little bit more, picking my spots, and kind of playing smart ball.”
Davis, who spent parts of three seasons in Boston, is one of several retired NBA players who have joined rapper Ice Cube’s three-on-three league. Founded in 2017, the BIG3 features eight six-person teams that travel across the country — including a stop in Boston this August — and compete in an eight-week long regular season.
