Report: Derrick White, Celtics agree on four-year contract extension

Boston Celtics guard Derrick White will be sticking around for a while. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, White and the Celtics agreed to a four-year, $125.9 million contract extension.

The new deal includes a player option for the final season, and is worth the maximum possible amount, Woj added. The 29-year-old could’ve waited a year and tested free agency to try and land a bigger payday, but elected to take care of things now and stay with the Cs.

White was a key piece of the Celtics’ run to Banner 18. He was named to the NBA’s All-Defensive second team and played so well that fans were clamoring for him to be named an All-Star.
