Report: Celtics confident in re-signing Kyrie Irving and willing to make “major offer” for Anthony Davis

Tonight’s Woj burp and report from the Herald’s Steve Bulpett is more of the same thing we’ve been hearing heading towards Thursday’s trade deadline: the Celtics are confident that Kyrie Irving will re-sign and if the opportunity is there this summer, Danny Ainge will make a significant offer for Anthony Davis. Danny Ainge has encouraged the Pelicans to wait until the offseason to negotiate with the Celtics. Boston remains determined to try and partner Anthony Davis with Kyrie Irving for long-term, but plans to pursue AD regardless of Irving's free agency plans, per sources.
