Report: Cavs softening on trade compensation; Isaiah Thomas says he’s not ‘damaged’

The Cavaliers softened their stance on further compensation in the Kyrie Irving-Isaiah Thomas trade in talks with the Boston Celtics on Tuesday, and Thomas told ESPN that his hip injury will not have a long-term impact on his career.

“I am not damaged. I’ll be back, and I’ll be the same player,” two-time All-Star point guard Thomas told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

“Maybe I am not going to be back as soon this season as everyone wants me to be, but I’m going to be back, and I’m going to be the same player again.
