If you thought the acquisition of Robert Williams was the end of Aron Baynes tenure in Boston, think again. Celtics Reporter A. Sherrod Blakley reported that “multiple league sources” believe that Aron Baynes will re-sign in Boston on a “multiyear” deal.
The Celtics can give Baynes a starting salary of $5,193,600 through his Non-Bird Rights, which should be enough considering the rough market for upcoming free agents this summer. The interesting part of the report was that this was a multi-year deal, Baynes, who will be turning 31 most likely is choosing security on a team he fits well on over trying to bet on himself for the more lucrative 2019 market.
