Rehabbing Crowder will test worth on market but wants back with Celtics

The speed of modern medical technology spared Jae Crowder a lot of free agent worry.

The Celtics forward discovered only hours after injuring his left knee, courtesy of a shot from Cleveland’s J.R. Smith on April 26, that the damage was a sprain and bone bruise and nothing more.

He has been rehabbing the knee at his home in Florida, resting, and waiting for restricted free agency to begin on July 1. But perhaps the most comforting feeling for Crowder is the continued sense that the Celtics want him back as much as he wants to return.
