When Ray Allen took the stage at Springfield Symphony Hall to deliver his Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement acceptance speech Friday evening, so many great players had come up before him to share stories and thank those who’d helped them along the way.
Players like Steve Nash, Grant Hill and Jason Kidd, who highlighted a star-studded Hall of Fame Class of 2018.
Allen spoke last, but his first order of business was to thank Michael Jordan, crediting the NBA icon for inspiring his basketball dream.
“As a 14-year old kid, I was sitting in my bedroom,” Allen said, “and I seen him come down the lane.
