Phil Pressey's notion for joining the Celtics in Salt Lake City may have been a chance to play for the summer league team, but the Celtics guard did not accompany the team to Las Vegas for tonight's opener against Portland.
According to Celtics assistant coach Micah Shrewsberry, who takes over from Jay Larranaga for the Las Vegas portion of this summer league swing, it was never intended for Pressey to play in the actual games. That said, Pressey had indicated a desire to play. He has a year left on a non-guaranteed contract that becomes guaranteed on July 15.
