Detroit came into Boston desperate for a win and left happy. The Pistons stunned the Celtics, as they handed them a 116-103 defeat. The loss was Boston’s fourth in their six games and dropped the Celtics into a tie with the Miami Heat for second place in the Eastern Conference standings.
With Blake Griffin and several other regulars out with injuries, the Pistons got big nights from a host of role players against an indifferent Celtics defense. Detroit shot 60% for the game, including several easy makes inside the arc.
Veterans Markieff Morris and Derrick Rose led the way for the Pistons with 23 and 22 points respectively.
