It’s been exactly one year since the world mourned the death of Bill Russell — a Boston Celtics legend and activist. The Hall of Famer is remembered as one of the All-Time greats and winners, in NBA history.
Boston Celtics icon Bill Russell was born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1934 and attended McClymond’s High School, in Oakland California. After receiving only one scholarship offer in high school, Russell went on to play collegiate basketball at San Fransisco in 1953.
For his career, Russell averaged 20.7 points, and 20.3 rebounds, in 79 career games.
