LAS VEGAS — In the eyes of many fans, NBA referees are a band of nomads who parachute into arenas, make life miserable for their team, retrieve their seeing-eye dogs and move on to the next city.
But in fact, most people might be stunned at how hard these guys (and women) work to improve on a job they already do quite well.
The players at summer league aren’t the only ones on the court being judged and developed. A number of young NBA refs and some from the D-League are working these games with an eye toward getting better and testing new concepts.
