Nike Inc. has unveiled new Boston Celtics “City Edition” uniforms that pay homage to the TD Garden’s iconic hardwood playing surface and former coach and team president Red Auerbach.
The uniforms sport a parquet floor design and Auerbach’s signature, and the belt buckle features the hoop dynasty’s 2008 World Champions banner that hangs from the TD Garden’s rafters.
“Gray, the color of unity, was incorporated in the uniform to signify the large regional fan base spread across New England that rallies behind the Celtics year in and out,” Nike said.
