The Boston Celtics have exercised patience with James Young since drafting the Kentucky product No. 17 overall in 2014. After two NBA seasons and a mediocre summer league showing in Las Vegas, his time might be up.
The Celtics have made 10 selections over the past two drafts, including six this year, and, while there are several players scheduled to remain overseas, roster spots remain at a premium. Young, who has played sparingly in two NBA seasons, got off to a good start in the Utah Summer League but struggled in the Las Vegas Summer League, playing only seven minutes over the last two games.
