INDEPENDENCE, Ohio — When LeBron James ripped off his jersey after losing to the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the 2010 Eastern Conference semifinals, it wasn’t just because he failed.
It was also because his supporting cast failed him.
As James begins his quest Sunday to lead the Cavs to an NBA title, facing the Celtics in the opening first-round game at Quicken Loans Arena, the playoffs are all about James and his mission to end Cleveland’s 51-year championship drought. But in another sense, they’re not really about him at all.
The greatest player in the world isn’t going to falter, isn’t going to suddenly lose his magical talents.
