Marcus Smart tests positive for COVID-19

Earlier on Thursday evening the Boston Celtics released a statement that one of their players had tested positive for COVID-19:

The positive coronavirus test is the latest in a long string of injuries and ailments for Smart this season. He previously missed time this year with an eye infection. Smart has also battled a series of bumps and bruises, most notably to his hip.

Smart is in his sixth year with the Celtics. The scrappy guard has become a Boston fan favorite for his all-out style of play. Smart has regularly professed his love for the only NBA city he’s called home.
