Good things happen to good teams.
That was LeBron James’ reaction to the Celtics acquiring the first overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft after the ping pong balls fell in the lottery on Tuesday night.
“It was just like wow and like OK,” said James. “To be a very, very good team and get the No. 1 pick, man they got the better side of that situation.”
The situation, of course, was the trade the Celtics made with Brooklyn in 2013 that sent Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett as headliners in a package that netted them a satchel of first-round picks from the Nets.
