Aaron Miller, a 16-year-old Newton North High School student, was honored as part of the Celtics Heroes Among Us program last night.
Miller’s story — despite born with severe brain damage and told by doctors he might be paralyzed for life, he competes on his high school basketball and golf teams — caught LeBron James’ attention. The Cavs star, who watched the presentation on the Garden video board during a timeout, ran over to Miller and rubbed the back of his head before the game resumed.
James noticed that Miller was wearing specially designed sneakers, with James’ name, made for kids unable to tie their shoes.
