How many people in the “Greatest Player Ever” discussion have gotten to perform in an NBA Finals with little or nothing to lose? How many could show up at the big hardwood table in the middle of the arena and plunk down house money?
Beyond those who lack the historical perspective to know that Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant didn’t always get it right, there is grand appreciation for what James has been able to accomplish in getting to this evening’s Game 5 with the series tied at 2-2.
