Key Moment
Beating the San Antonio Spurs is a hefty challenge in and of itself. Beating them while shooting ice cold from the field is nearly impossible.
Boston learned that the hard way Sunday afternoon, when it couldn’t pop the lid off of its basket.
The Celtics shot a woeful 26.1 percent during the first quarter and 29.2 percent overall during the opening half. They headed into the locker room at halftime having connected on only one of their 12 3-point attempts.
As one would imagine, that half of poor shooting left Boston with a sizable hole to climb out of.
