Jayson Tatum’s right knee tendinopathy forces him to sit out Celtics home game against Pistons

Jayson Tatum missed Thursday’s game against the Pistons with right knee tendinopathy. Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said the injury is not believed to be serious. Tatum has missed two of the last four games, both against Detroit. They are the only games he has missed this season.

The Celtics have had four days off since their loss to Memphis on Saturday. Tatum logged 38 minutes in that game. He was able to work out on Thursday and has another small workout planned for Friday, Mazzulla said.

“Tendinopathy, I don’t know too much about it, but I do think it is something that just kind of comes and goes.
