Jayson Tatum's dad on playing son in high school: 'He kicked my butt'

WALTHAM – Justin Tatum saw his son Jayson’s NBA potential from an adversarial perspective.

Jayson Tatum, the Celtics' first round pick (No. 3 overall) in last night’s NBA draft, was introduced this afternoon along with team owners Steve Pagliuca and Wyc Grousbeck, basketball operations boss Danny Ainge and head coach Brad Stevens at the team’s training facility.

Tatum was joined at the assembly by his parents, Brandy Cole and Justin Tatum, both of St. Louis.

And his father has a unique view of his son, one of former opponent.
