Celtics fans held their collective breath late Monday night, as superstar forward Jayson Tatum left Boston’s game against the Sacramento Kings due to a left ankle sprain.
Tatum suffered the injury midway through the third quarter of Boston’s eventual 113-95 win over the Kings.
While attempting a 3-point shot against Kings All-Star center Domantas Sabonis, Tatum landed on Sabonis’ foot — turning his left ankle in the process. Tatum dropped the hardwood in clear pain, eventually needing help to get to the bench.
Sabonis was subsequently called for a Flagrant 1 foul for sliding his foot into Tatum’s landing zone — giving Tatum free throws.
