Jayson Tatum stood before the media scrum after drilling a fadeaway jumper to win his first summer league game with the Boston Celtics. He talked about various topics but gave a tongue in cheek answer when someone asked Tatum if he thought his game resembled that of the Black Mamba - Kobe Bryant.
"Yeah, that's my favorite player." Tatum retorted. "He was, then I went to the Celtics."
After a rookie season where Tatum began to master the step-back and fadeaway, the comparisons to Bryant are starting to make a lot of sense.
The rising star's trainer, Drew Hanlen of Pure Sweat, recently put out a video dissecting players where Tatum mirrored Bryant almost perfectly.
