Jayson Tatum agrees to 5 year super max extension with Celtics for $314 million

Last summer Jaylen Brown signed the richest contract in NBA history. That record would stand for a season, but this summer it's Jayson Tatum's turn as he has agreed to a super max 5 extension with the Boston Celtics for $314 million. That number now makes Tatum's contract the richest in NBA history.

Tatum will have a player option on year 5. Here is the year by year breakdown of the extension:

  • 2025-26: $54,126,450
  • 2026-27: $58,456,566
  • 2027-28: $62,786,682
  • 2028-29: $67,116,798
  • 2029-30: $71,446,914


    Earlier today the Celtics agreed to a 4 year extension with starting guard Derrick White, so the total bill for today is a whopping $440 million.
